Low Level Laser Therapy for a Healthier and Happier YOU!
Low level laser therapy (LLLT) is a technique which uses low-level lasers or light-emitting diodes to stimulate cellular function. These lasers, at lower powers, can non-thermally and non-destructively alter cellular function. This laser can address a variety of articular, neural, and soft tissue conditions.
Laser Uses In Therapy
The laser can also be used for many therapeutic applications, including the temporary relief of minor muscle and joint pain and stiffness, minor arthritis pain, muscle spasms, minor sprains and strains, minor muscular back pain, temporary increase in localized blood circulation, temporary relaxation of muscles, and the treatment of neuropathy due to diabetes, and more.
Laser for Pain Management and other Therapeutic Applications
LLLT has primarily been shown useful in the short-term treatment of acute pain caused by rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis pain, tendinopathy, and chronic joint disorders to name a few. LLLT has also been useful in the treatment of both acute and chronic neck pain.
The laser, which is FDA approved, is a safe procedure. Due to the low level, non-thermal nature of the laser, there is no tissue destruction or other hazards that you would find associated with the higher powered lasers.
Low Level Laser Therapy Clinical Studies
A number of papers have shown a reduction of pain with laser treatments directed over acupuncture points. Altered skin resistance with a reduction of pain were also noted in subjects who receive LLLT over muscular trigger points.
